Gavaskar Went Way Too Far

GIVE it a rest, Sunil. If ex-Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was trying to needle Australians, he succeeded when he dragged the late David Hookes into his weird argument, obsession with the Aussie team and his persistent perception of their unpopularity around the world. Besides representing his country, "Hookesy" became a radio and television commentator with strong opinions, a larrikin whose life was cut short far too early, in tragic circumstances. Thankfully Gavaskar woke up and has apologised to the Hookes family for his "uncalled for and inappropriate" remarks.
